Virginia Tech Research Center – Arlington, new home for VT-ARC National Capitol Region Offices
Arlington, VA – Friday June 17, 2011. Virginia Tech’s motto is Ut Prosim -- “That I May Serve” and the three principal missions are teaching, research, and outreach. To foster the research mission and to advance its research agenda, the University has a significant presence in the National Capital Region-- primarily to enhance its ability to engage and collaborate with both the public and private sector’s scientific and technology communities that are so richly concentrated in the NCR. To further support this mission the University has built the new Virginia Tech Research Center – Arlington, located at 900 North Glebe Road. The seventh floor of the new building will be the home of Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation’s in the NCR; including 20,000 square feet of offices, laboratories and collaboration spaces designed to enable work on national level issues in Intelligence, Cyber/IT and National Security. In keeping with the University’s motto “That I May Serve,” Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation, also known as VT-ARC, is a private, non- profit University affiliated research corporation dedicated to agile and innovative applied “problem solving” research. VT-ARC is an organization that values teamwork, integrity, excellence and service.
On June 17, 2011, the University will host a pre-opening of the new Research Center where those in attendance will have an opportunity to “meet the scientists” and tour the facility to get a firsthand look at where some of our nation’s leading researchers will help overcome the most difficult and pressing problems of the future. This event will also enable you to meet with VT-ARC and explore opportunities to partner with Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation in solving some of our nation’s most critical challenges.
The event will run from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM June 17, 2011. If you are interested in attending please contact Key Watkins the VT-ARC, Chief of Staff – NCR at Keywatkins@vt-arc.org.
